Objective

Northwaters & Langskib needed a custom website design to market the two separate branches of their organization: the camp program for young campers and the teen wilderness trip programs. Essentially, they needed two distinct, linked websites that shared a design aesthetic, functionality and a common content management system.

From a search engine optimization standpoint they wanted a site that took advantage of as many market area keywords as possible in order to attract potential participants from keyword searches such as “summer canoe camps.” Engaging content and a focus on effective conversion tools turns visitors to the website into campers in canoes.

Solution:

  • Union Street Media created a bifurcated custom website design branded to each half of the organization using image-rich pages to convey every part of the Northwaters & Langskib experience.
  • Created an onsite blog to both add keyword-rich, search engine-friendly copy and give potential campers and their parents a deeper understanding of the organization's approach to child and young adult wilderness education.
  • Set up a cyclical process of search engine optimization allowing the camp staff to take full advantage of their off season to optimize their site while leaving them unencumbered to face their high season with website worries.
  • Incorporated secure online forms to centralize the organization’s admission process.
  • Implemented contact tools including an “Ask The Camp Director” link on each page to give people as many ways to get in touch as possible.
