I believe that personal computers and software are still amazingly primitive, blunt instruments, but that they have the potential within my lifetime to evolve into sophisticated precision tools that make human lives simpler, more efficient, and more pleasant. By creating hardware that makes using the computer simple and intuitive and software that learns about us and makes educated, intelligent extrapolations to anticipate our needs, computers can eventually become indispensable assistants that enrich and simplify every aspect of our lives. I hope my work helps in some way to bring compute technology closer to this ideal.
