Junior Web Developer
Union Street Media, a leading Vermont web design and development company, is seeking to add a new Junior Web Developer to our team.
Since 1999, we have developed database-driven web sites focusing on visual appeal, usability, and search engine prominence. The company is composed of two distinct teams: Interactive, which serves hundreds of clients throughout the country in a wide range of industries, and Real Estate, which develops and maintains sites for REALTORS. This position is with our Real Estate support team.
As a member of our support team, this role requires direct interaction with our clients on a regular basis. The person who fills this role will be responsible for helping update and maintain our client’s web sites. This includes fielding phone calls, helping with advice & training on our content management system, and responding to requests submitted through our support ticketing system. The role entails timeliness in project delivery, attention to detail, and a high degree of professionalism when dealing with clients and co-workers.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a professional web developer
- Four year college degree
- Applicable course work in web site development
- Good communication and writing skills
- A belief in our concept, a strong work ethic and team mentality
- Professional presentation, timeliness, discipline and behavior
- Thorough understanding of HTML, PHP, CSS, Photoshop
Functions/Responsibilities:
- Managing and completing support tickets as they are submitted by clients
- Fielding phone calls from clients through out the day
- Sharing in the rotation of our off-hours emergency ticket notifications
- Work with all members of the USM team to troubleshoot problems
- Help with spam filtering, DNS changes, setting up FTP and email accounts
- Keeping skill set up to date with current design and technologies
