Process

Careful collaboration with no surprises

We can show hundreds of examples of great sites and happy clients that have acheived a positive return on their site, but how can you be confident we can do it for you? You have unique needs, a limited budget, lots of demands on your time, and a tight deadline.

That's nothing unusual. Really.

Our process works with these realities. Every step of the way, we are direct with you, easy to reach, speaking "plain English", and carefully communicate what's next.

Planning

Congratulations! You took the first step in planning your new web site by taking the time to visit our web site. The next step is contacting us.  When you call, you'll speak to Ted, Jon, Minna or Spencer on the Account Management team

Our sales process is unlike what you would expect. There are no hidden costs. We don't worry about the cost of a competing proposal.  We carefully listen to your needs, ask questions to help you think of requirements you might have missed, and make sure that everything you're asking for will lead to your desired outcome. If we don't think your project can be successful, we don't submit a proposal.

If we win your business, it's time to implement our strategy to accomplish your goals. You'll be introduced to your Project Manager--Michelle or Dave. They will conduct a project orientation call to let you know next steps and deliver the Client Survey to learn more about your needs and goals.

You're then introduced to your Internet Marketer--Elissa, Tom or Jane.  They conduct a goals interview and deliver your online business plan called the Internet Marketing Brief.

Read about our strategy to learn more, or contact us for a sample Internet Marketing Brief.

Information Architecture

With your planning in place, we move on to the outline and structure of your site. We deliver a site map of all categories, subcategories and interior pages, which you review. We adjust it based on your feedback.

You will start working on your site content by filling out a content worksheet that we deliver in Microsoft Word, or by inputting your content directly into the content management system. We provide help and advice with your site content, as well as copy editing and writing, through content coaching services.

Once your content is complete, we either move into design or develop wire frames to provide site layout suggestions. Wire frames are online "pencil sketches" that can help sreamline the design process.

Visual Design and Development

Now, for the fun part.

Creative Director Todd Cummings and Graphic Designer Normandie Hyatt deliver multiple rounds of custom site designs. You will view their design drafts, provide feedback to your Project Manager, and they will adjust them accordingly. Here is one "before and after" example, for a youth adventure travel company called Overland.

Once your design is approved, Morgan, Scott, Evan, and Ryan turn it into a full working test site.

Check out our portfolio for examples of our design work.

Evaluation, Training & Launch

No matter how carefully we plan, when you see your working test site, you will have changes. Your estimate will allocate 50% of the production time on your site to making changes to the test site. Sometimes this means our estimate is for more hours than competing estimates, but this is time you will appreciate having.

We collect your comments into one comprehensive round of edits, present them to you for your approval, train you to update your web site yourself and launch your site for the world to see!

Ongoing Support and Marketing

"Support" means much more than "hosting" to us.

Your site will be taken care of in 4 different ways.

1) We issue quarterly progress reports to all clients that engage Report Recommend Revise, our continuous improvement process. We recommend the next steps you can take to improve your search engine placement, and help you implement the revisions. Read about our strategy for more on RRR.

2) Update your site yourself through the content management system. If you can use the Internet and Microsoft Word, you can update your web site content. Access a comprehensive online Help Center 24/7/365, or get quick helpful hints by clicking the "?" icons in the content management system.

3)  Call or email support Monday-Friday 9-6 and speak with Matt "Classic", "iMatt", Levi, or Pam for training, questions, and site updates you don't want to do yourself. We also provide 24/7 emergency support and server monitoring. Ask us for details about emergency support.

4) Depend on a performance warranty for your site hosting and all content management tools. If they don't work as described on this web site and in your Proposal, we fix them, on us.
