Ecommerce Details

Our Ecommerce program includes the following elements:

Content Managment

Update the entire ecommerce database from any computer with Internet Access, using a newly customized WYSIWYG Product Editor. You can edit and update all sorts of information about your products--price, options, shipping information, descriptions and more. WYSIWYG means "what you see is what you get;" in other words, site content on the "back end" administration system (where you update the site) looks almost the same as it does on the "front end" (actual web site). This makes it easy for you to update your site without any programming or HTML knowledge.

Custom Design:

At Union Street Media, we offer flexibility in design and layout of your products. All USM ecommerce sites are custom-designed for each client. We will work closely with you to choose layouts that display products attractively to make the sale.

Extensive Purchase Options:

If you offer a range of product options we can help you organize them. Each individual product option will be clearly displayed, such as size choices, color choices, and gift wrapping. These options can be priced differently.

Detailed Information:

Product details and additional information can be included in separate, smaller windows to allow your customer to make an informed purchase without interfering with the buying process. This detailed information can be assigned to multiple products when applicable. In other words, you save time: you write the detailed information once, then simply assign it to the applicable products on your site. Examples of detailed information are: color swatches, fabric info ("About Gore Tex®"), care instructions, etc.

"Virtual Salesperson":

To help increase your online sales, each product that displays on your site can have multiple "recommended" products that automatically appear at the bottom of the product page. You can designate and change which products are "recommended." For example, when a visitor looks at a pair of snow boots, he or she could also be presented with gloves, a helmet, and a backpack.

Shopping Cart:

Shopping is quick and easy, minimizing clicks and lost customers. Visitors will click on the product they wish to buy, click "add to cart," and upon completing shopping, choose "check out."

Wish List:

If a visitor wants to purchase products at a later date, he or she can convert his shopping cart into a "wish list," which is stored in their account.

Streamlined Checkout:

Here's how it works: At the checkout, buyers enter all pertinent billing and delivery information. Credit cards are processed in real time. The customer gets a custom HTML receipt email for their order, and you get a copy as well. To make future purchases easier, the Member's Login Feature "remembers" each buyer's contact information and shipping preferences. In the process, you build a database of customers who have purchased from your site, which you can use for future marketing efforts.

Shipping:

Shipping by UPS and US Postal Service are calculated in real-time on the web site. A handling fee can also be added.

Tax:

Applicable state sales taxes are applied for in-state shipping; for out-of-state shipping, tax can be calculated as well.

Data Export:

To control and monitor your site's sales, you can easily export all transactions on your site into a file so you can import them into Quickbooks® and other business software ( note: QuickBooks® import requires additional software purchase).
