A few words with Andy:

As someone who came of age during the internet revolution, it's been incredible to watch the evolution of communication technology and its impact on society. During graduate school I worked on a website that published environmental information for the public. That experience, as well as what I've seen building all sorts of websites since the late '90's has made me realize the incredible power of information. We've seen all sorts of amazing revolutions from the internet - from eBay to real estate, blogging, social networks, and video. I find the freedom and volatility of it all rather mind-blowing. Also, I've been amazed at the speed which innovation can occur with the advent of networks of global communication.

Why does Andy work at USM?

I enjoy the variety and challenge of web development - we never know what's coming around the bend in terms of technology and it's fun to do creative problem solving. I've been really jazzed up by the new trends in web standards and CSS design. With the wide adoption of these standards we can implement more powerful designs and are creating more accessible and search engine friendly sites in the process. I'm also fascinated by analytics -- helping our clients craft the metrics that are meaningful in the day to day operations of their businesses and organizations.
